Welcome to a new year at the Joe Dwek Ohr Haemet Sephardic School.If you have registered your child with us then you have entered into a partnership to share common goals and to plan together on how to raise your child with not only academic excellence but with character development. We believe not only in acquiring knowledge but also in connecting with your child in order to develop responsible members of our Jewish community. We believe in our students becoming lifelong learners of Torah and general knowledge. We work to understand and motivate our gifted and challenged students. We work tirelessly, as a Team, to achieve our goals that meet the educational, physical and emotional needs of our students and to give them the tools needed to excel in all areas of a religious school education. That’s why our motto states that in everything we do; learning comes alive at the JDOHSS. How do we do it? Differentiation-to support the strengths, needs and interests of each student to improve achievement and success in all subject areas. Providing new approaches to learning and assessment. Kol Koreh Literacy Project: Jr. Gr. 1 to 2, will be continuing to the year 2015, to work with remedial experts on a daily basis in both Hebrew and General Studies all part of early childhood intervention Consultants: Who work with the school to support our goals. Professional Development: Continuous Technology: Smart Boards, computer lab, to help motivate and inspire our students. Services: CCAC, JVS, JF & CS, JIAS Dedicated Teachers Communication: With parents, teachers, and students. To be available to you, to listen, to help, to guide. Who is our Team? Our devoted Board of Directors, Moms’ Association all work to further the school in its initiatives. Our administrative Team is made up of our Principal, Sarah Wasserman, our Menahel, Rabbi Kamenetzky, Vice Principal, Sara Cohen, we have added our Myriam and David Bitton Individual Student Pathway Coordinator, Renee Herzog, our Guidance counselor Sarah Gaon-Kazdan. Myriam Troyna our secretary, Inna Krukovsky our financial administrator. Together we will work to give your children the tools necessary to move through their educational journey. We embrace the spirit of innovation that acts to realize opportunities to transform our vision into reality.

First Term Report Cards:

Inclement Weather - The school will only close on the instruction of the Board of Jewish Education. We ask parents to listen to the radio station CFRB 1010 AM or CITY TV for announcements of school closings. Please do not drop off your child without first making sure that the school is open..
We are very happy to introduce our new David and Myriam Bitton Individual Student Pathway (ISP) Department. Our new head coordinator is Renee Herzog, welcome!
Honour Roll – Students, from Grades 5 to 8, will be given certificates at the end of each term for achieving a high standard of academic excellence by maintaining 80% / 90% Grade average. Students who will maintain 90%+ Grade average will receive the principal’s honor roll.
